About Waterfell

WE ARE EXTREMELY PLEASED TO ADVISE THAT WE CAN NOW OFFER ANOTHER UNIQUE HOLIDAY PROPERTY FOR 2 PEOPLE IN THE SAME LOCATION AS SEALOCH HOUSE NEAR ULLAPOOL IN THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS. Waterfell is currently under construction and we are planning on welcoming guests from mid July 2021.

Waterfell is a new one bedroomed larch clad contemporary house cantilevering over the trickling burn and with wonderful views of the surrounding hills and the waters of Loch Broom. Waterfell and Sealoch have been developed to ensure you retain your own privacy and external spaces within the 0.66 acre of grounds. The two properties will complement each other and offer stylish accommodation for couples, families and larger groups. You just choose how much space you want to enjoy.

Waterfell is a single storey, eco-friendly house that has an open plan and contemporary design. The large windows make the most of the amazing views and wonderful setting as it cantilevers over the small burn trickling through the land.  This larch clad one-bedroom architectural gem sleeps two and careful thought has gone into ensuring that everything necessary for a memorable and comfortable stay is available. This is no tiny off grid pod that feels cramped after a couple of days.

The house has been designed and built in early 2021 by Echo Living, an award-winning company that develops unique one-off buildings in their factory on the Scottish borders. The building is brought to site in fully formed modules and then craned into position. A perfect way to build in the, sometimes challenging Scottish environment.

Enter through the hand made metal gate in the dry stone wall into a courtyard. The timber decking with partial glass roof covering creates a welcome entrance and a lovely outside space from which to soak up the unique atmosphere of the surroundings. You have space to hang up coats and stow walking boots before entering the house.

Step down from the bamboo timber floored entrance hall into the light, airy and open living space that has distinct areas for cooking and dining, reading, relaxing, watching tv or for simply looking at the beautiful surroundings. A woodburner gives a lovely cosy feeling to the lounge area. A built- in sofa and floating bench seat by the windows allow you to relax wherever you choose and enjoy the elevated view from the cantilever over the small burn running below.

Please note that there are 3 steps in the building between the living and bedroom areas.

The purpose built stylish modern kitchen has ample storage and is equipped with appliances, including a four-ring induction hob, fitted oven and a large retro style fridge/freezer. In fact, everything needed to prepare, cook and accompany all the fantastic local produce!

The lounge has a large smart tv connected to a surround sound bar. You can watch your favourite Netflix programmes and also connect phones and computers through the sound system. High speed wifi ensures you can stay connected. A contemporary dining table and chairs allow you to eat in comfort whilst the art around the house will call for your attention. A selection of thoughtfully chosen artworks create a welcoming ambience.

The woodburner will give warmth and comfort when the temperatures go down although, in our experience, the house remains wonderfully warm whatever the weather outside. Controllable underfloor heating will keep you warm when the temperatures dip.

Our house has a spacious separate bedroom with high quality ensuite facilities.

The bedroom has lovely views towards the loch, which you can enjoy from the comfort of the super-king sized bed after a long day of adventure exploring the surrounding countryside. The bed can be split into two singles if you prefer. The ensuite bathroom has a bath with a powerful overhead shower, integrated toilet and basin.

Outside

No need to feel locked inside the house, wander outside to enjoy the beautiful and wild surroundings.

A timber deck runs across the south west facing part of the house and is accessed from the entrance door. The deck has partial roof covering to provide shelter when you want to have some protection from the odd shower. The deck leads to a lovely shingle garden/seating area looking towards the burn.

Carefully clamber down to the burn and dip your toes in the water.

Explore your way down to the shore of Loch Broom and it's pebble beach, wander along to a 2,500 year old ruin or walk out the front door and up the hills to see amazing views of Munro's, Ullapool and the Summer Isles out at sea.

There is car parking at the front of the house.
